3 friends are on their way to Italy
Three students of Izmir University of Economics (IUE) achieved great success by being accepted to Polytechnic University of Milan, which is known as one of the 20 best universities in the world in the field of engineering. Standing out with their research, projects and high grade point averages, Emre Çağlar Çelik, Gökhan Öncül, and Kerem Daylan had the opportunity to pursue a master's degree with a full scholarship granted by the Italian government. IUE students, who are also roommates, and are among the few students entitled to go to Italy, will conduct studies to represent Turkey in the best possible way.
IUE Department of Civil Engineering senior students Emre Çağlar Çelik (22) and Kerem Daylan (22), and Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering senior student Gökhan Öncül (22) will set off for Italy in September. Çelik, Öncül and Daylan will participate in many projects and researches in Italy, where they will stay for 2 years. Young people, who set an example with their success, had participated in many national and international projects before and went to Romania as part of the 'Aiesec' project. Çelik, Öncül and Daylan continue their education at IUE with full scholarship.
FROM BEING ROOM MATES TO TRAVELING TO ITALY
Stating that he is happy and proud to be accepted to Polytechnic University of Milan, Emre Çağlar Çelik said, “I met my other friends while I was in the prep class. We became friends in a short time by strengthening our communication, and then we rented a house together. We wanted very much to study abroad and to provide ourselves with new opportunities. We worked very hard for this. Three students came out of the same house who won a scholarship in Italy. This was interesting and beautiful. My goal is to pursue an academic career.”
STUDIES IN THE FIELD OF 'CONSTRUCTION'
One of the other students, Kerem Daylan said, “Doing a master's degree in Italy is a great opportunity for all of us. We want to make the most of it. Çağlar and I always supported each other because we studied in the same department. After my master's degree, I want to continue my studies in the private sector. The scholarship we received in Italy will bring us closer to this goal and enable us to look to the future with more confidence. We will develop ourselves by working especially in the field of 'construction'.”
WE EXPECTED TO BE ACCEPTED
IUE Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering student Gökhan Öncül said, “We expected to be accepted to Polytechnic University of Milan. We had a feeling that we would all be in Italy together. We reached our goal. After graduating, I want to enter the private sector in the first place. I even want to make a difference by developing projects on my own. I'm happy to be with my friends in Italy, too.”
