He went to study, his life changed

Sadık Onur Özden, a graduate of Department of Industrial Engineering at Izmir University of Economics (IUE), decided to settle in Hungary, where he had gone for his master’s degree, and became a favorite of international companies thanks to his success. Gaining attention from several companies at a young age, Özden began working as a project engineer at the multinational company Kuark International. He became one of only five Turkish engineers working at the Hungary branch of this major firm.
Conducting field inspections and monitoring the progress of large-scale industrial facility projects, Özden said, “I’m happy in Hungary and want to continue my career here. By further developing my technical and managerial skills, I aim to take on more international responsibilities in the coming period.”
COMPLETED HIS MASTER’S WITH A SPECIAL SCHOLARSHIP
Sadık Onur Özden (28), who graduated from IUE Department of Industrial Engineering in 2021, received the Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship granted by the Hungarian government and completed his master’s degree in engineering management at the University of Debrecen. After successfully completing his master’s, Özden received the same scholarship again and participated in a Postgraduate Degree program in Lean Engineering. His academic success in Hungary caught the attention of the business world. Özden started working as a project engineer at Kuark International, a multinational engineering and project management company operating in several countries.
“SUSTAINABLE AND INNOVATIVE SOLUTIONS”
Representing Turkey successfully on the international stage, Özden said, “Thanks to the analytical thinking skills and broad vision that my University instilled in me, I am now taking on technical and managerial responsibilities in some of Europe’s leading projects. Since January 2025, in my current role, I have been conducting field inspections, managing bidding processes, and monitoring the progress of large-scale industrial facility projects. We have a pipeline project called MOL Olefin. I am involved in isometric control and updates for this project, and I prepare daily internal and subcontractor reports.”
“I’M DOING WHAT I LOVE”
Expressing his desire to continue his career in Europe, Özden said, “My future goal is to further develop my technical and managerial skills, work on sustainable and innovative projects, and take on more responsibilities on an international level. I aim to use the knowledge and experience I’ve gained to contribute to both the industry and society throughout my career. I love Hungary. I’ve built a great social circle here and am progressing in my career just as I hoped. I’m also happy at the company I work for. I studied in a field I’m passionate about, and naturally, that has reflected on my current job and boosted my motivation. I’ll keep working even harder to represent my country in the best way possible and not disappoint those who believe in me.”
