Our university's Aerospace Engineering department organized a seminer called ''Project Management in Aerospace''. On Wednesday, October 30, Timur Akgül visited our university and Aerospace Engineering department and gave a seminar.  

On September 20, 2024, a Technical Trip was held to TAI Aerospace Industry (TAI) by faculty members of the Aerospace Engineering and Mechanical Engineering department. 

In the activity in question, current projects carried out by TAI and their problem areas are seen on site and joint projects (Autonomous project, R&D project, TUBITAK project, etc.) are developed within the scope of University-Industry cooperation.

Discussions were held regarding the joint determination of thesis topics for our undergraduate and graduate students.

Students of Izmir University of Economics (IUE) won first place in the Helicopter Design Competition organized within the scope of TEKNOFEST with their helicopter named ‘Çalıkuşu,’ which they designed after approximately one year of work. 

Burak Köse, a graduate of the Department of Aerospace Engineering at Izmir University of Economics (IUE), has been accepted for a master's degree at the University of Manchester, which ranks among the top 50 universities in the world. 

Our ECO-Dynamics team, consisting of students from the Aerospace Engineering department, was deemed worthy of the 'best presentation award' in the TEKNOFEST Helicopter Design Competition. We congratulate our students and wish them continued success.

Prof. Dr. Celalettin Kozanoğlu and Prof. Dr. Murat Aşkar from Izmir University of Economics (IUE) have developed a ‘fire tower’ project designed to extinguish forest fires as quickly as possible. 

4 scientists from Izmir University of Economics (IUE) have begun work on developing a drug aimed at treating osteoarthritis, a disease mostly seen in individuals over the age of 55 due to tissue and cartilage loss in the joints. 

Students from the Department of Civil Engineering and Department of Architecture at Izmir University of Economics (IUE) conducted earthquake simulations by examining 45 historic buildings in the city using scale models. 

Asst. Prof. Dr. Ebru Sayılgan, Lecturer at Izmir University of Economics (IUE) Department of Mechatronics Engineering, developed a ‘wrist rehabilitation device’ for paralyzed patients that can be controlled by signals received from the brain.

The founder and CEO of broadAngle, a software company operating in the United States and Izmir, Garrison Atkisson, along with software engineer Ayber Zeray, held two separate seminar sessions with third-year students of our Software Engineering department. During his speech, Atkisson provided information about how broadAngle manages its software development teams and shapes the process. He then discussed the quality metrics the company provides to customers when evaluating its services.

Efforts regarding project and employee performance monitoring were shared with our students.

Information about current tools used in software engineering processes, as well as the problems encountered during software release and the methods used to overcome them, were presented with examples.

When asked about expectations from recent graduates, Atkisson emphasized that proficiency in English is the most important criterion. He noted that the English education provided at İzmir Ekonomi University distinguishes candidates from those applying from other universities.

After the speeches, Atkisson and Zeray spent some more time on our campus, having coffee and chatting with students. They answered questions about the industry, provided information about internships and hiring processes to the students.
