TÜBİTAK 2209-B Support for FENG498 Final Project
Department of Mechatronics Engineering
Our students from the Department of Mechatronics Engineering at Izmir University of Economics, Ali Gül, Damla Köleli, Sude Kurt, Cem Satılmış, and Ferhat Altunay, conducted a project titled “Hardware and Software Development for Accuracy and Reducing Calculation Errors in Inertial Measurement Units for Gimbal Position and Speed Control” and have been awarded funding under the TÜBİTAK 2209-B University Students Industry-Oriented Research Projects Support Program.
The project, supported by Altınay Defense Technologies Inc., involves Dr. Cihat Bora Yiğit as the industry advisor and Prof. Dr. Şeniz Ertuğrul as the academic advisor. We wish our students success in the project.

Brain Signals Measured and Detected: We Are Influenced by Scent in Shopping
Prof. Dr. Aydın Akan, a faculty member of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, and Instructor Dr. Rıza Sadıkzade from Izmir University of Economics (IUE), investigated the impact of orders sent in scented packages on consumers during online shopping.
Italian National Space Day Workshop

The Italian National Space Day Workshop was successfully held on December 16, 2024, by the Aerospace Engineering Department of Izmir University of Economics, with strong participation from academics, researchers, and students.
The event featured presentations by notable speakers, including Dott.ssa Beatrice Tonini from the Italian Consulate, Prof. Paolo Cipollini from the European Space Agency, Dr. Fabrizio Pinto and Chairman of the Aerospace Engineering department Prof. Dr. Diaa Gadelmavla. Student researchers also contributed to the program, highlighting the importance of scientific collaboration.

The 3-week Bioinformatics Bootcamp
Department of Biomedical Engineering
The 3-week Bioinformatics Bootcamp, organized by our university's IEEE EMBS and CS student branches, has been successfully completed. Research Assistant Duygu Geçkin from our department provided participants with a comprehensive and instructive program, including an introductory Python course and insights into the field of bioinformatics.
