Atakan, a graduate of Izmir University of Economics' Department of Aerospace Engineering in 2024, has added a significant achievement to his career by becoming a pilot. Having appeared in a SunExpress commercial as a child, he now works as a pilot for the same company. We congratulate him on this success story, where he turned his dreams into reality through disciplined work and determination.

Two graduation projects from our Department of Aerospace Engineering have been selected to be exhibited at the 12th Haluk Sılay Graduation Projects Exhibition, organized by the TMMOB Izmir Branch of Mechanical Engineers.

Our projects featured in the exhibition are:
• Design and Analysis of a Variable-Diameter Propeller
• Design and Development of a Foldable Drone Capable of Passing Through Narrow Spaces

We congratulate our students and their advisors on this significant achievement and hope that their work will inspire future academic and industrial projects.

All the facets of Aerospace Engineering came together in our project exhibition! From classic passenger aircraft to futuristic Blended Wing (BWB) designs, from space capsules to autonomous UAV platforms, our students created amazing concepts. We congratulate all our young people who pushed the boundaries of aerodynamics and brought their theoretical knowledge to life with 3D printers.

Mert Can Uçar, Berk Çoban, Arda Doruk Acar, and Mehmet Sadık Yılmaz, graduates of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Izmir University of Economics (IUE), have developed a special application to encourage students to study. 

Students from the Departments of Civil Engineering and Architecture at Izmir University of Economics (IUE) carried out earthquake simulations by examining scaled models of 22 world-famous structures. 

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kaya OĞUZ, a faculty member of the Department of Computer Engineering at our Faculty of Engineering, is involved in the CA25153 HARPA (Human-centered Approaches to Responsible Privacy for and with AI) COST Action, which has been approved for funding by the COST network.

Izmir University of Economics (IUE) faculty members Prof. Dr. Celalettin Kozanoğlu and Prof. Dr. Murat Aşkar have been granted a patent for the “fire wall” project they developed to extinguish forest fires quickly and prevent them from spreading over large areas.

Students from the Department of Software Engineering at İzmir University of Economics achieved notable success at the Young Minds New Ideas Graduation Projects Competition.

Students from the Faculty of Engineering at İzmir University of Economics (IUE) have developed a special bomb disposal robot named “Eclipse,” which can conduct surface scans thanks to its robotic arm, reconnaissance drone, camera and sensors.

Ceyda Ece Han, a third-year Software Engineering student at Izmir University of Economics, won a prize by placing in the top ranks at the Izmir inter-university chess tournament.
