Sena Yağmur ŞEN graduated from Izmir Yaşar University, Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering in 2018 with a Bachelor's degree. She completed her Master's degree with Thesis in Izmir Yaşar University Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department in 2021. During her graduate education, she worked as an adjunct instructor at Izmir Yaşar University. Afterwards, she started her PhD education at Izmir University of Economics, Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering in 2021 and has been working as a research assistant in the same department since 2023. Her current research interests are in biomedical signal processing, machine learning and deep learning.

He has graduated from Dokuz Eylül University (DEU) Mechanical Engineering Department in 1982. He has gained his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from DEU, respectively, on the fields of Construction-Manufacturing in 1985 and Thermodynamics-Energy in 1991. He has worked as a research assistant at DEU between 1983-1992, and as a researcher at the Catholic University of America between 1992-1994. Between 1994-1999 he has worked as a bussiness executive and partner for a private company. Prof. M. Barış ÖZERDEM has rejoined the faculty position at İzmir Institute of Technology between 1999-2012. Meanwhile, he has served as Mechanical Engineering Department Head between 2002-2006, Dean of Graduate School between 2006-2007, and Dean of Engineering Faculty between 2007-2010. Prof. M.Barış ÖZERDEM has also worked at Bahçeşehir University (BAU), Department of Energy Systems Engineering until 2016. He was head of the department at BAU between 2014-2016. Prof. M. Barış ÖZERDEM is the founding president of American Society of Heating Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) Turkish Chapter. His main research areas are; thermodynamics, heat transfer, HVAC applications, and renewable energy. In addition, Prof. M. Barış ÖZERDEM is a member of Editorial Board of SCI listed journal Energy and Buildings .

He graduated from Balıkesir University Mechanical Engineering Department in 2005. After graduation, he worked as a mechanical engineer in various companies and continued his graduate education at Izmir Institute of Technology (İYTE). He completed his master's degree at IZTECH Mechanical Engineering Department in 2012 and his doctorate at IZTECH Mechanical Engineering Department in 2021. During PhD program, he worked as a project assistant in various Tübitak projects. Between 2015 and 2017, he carried out R&D activities as a founding partner in NLFD Technology company, which was established with the Techno-enterprise Capital Support of the Ministry of Industry and Technology. He started to work as a faculty member in the Department of Aerospace Engineering at Izmir University of Economics in 2021. He carries out academic studies on robotics and his fields of study include mobile robots, fault tolerant control, teleoperation, haptic device design, medical robotics, dynamic modeling and controller design.

Izzet Murat Aksit graduated from Aerospace Faculty of Istanbul Technical University in 1985. He received his MSc degree from Mechanical Engineering Faculty of Istanbul Technical University. He completed his PhD at Cranfield University, in England, in 1995. After worked for Ford of Turkey, he returned to Cranfield University, working as a post-doc between in 1998-2004. Then he returned to Turkey and worked for defense industry companies such as Roketsan, STM, and TEI. He joined İzmir University of Economics in September 2017. His research interest includes Turbulent Combustion, Turbulent Diffusion Flame, Emission Predictions, Computational Fluid Dynamics, Fluid Dynamics (Aerodynamics) and Internal Combustion Engines.

Fabrizio Pinto obtained his Laurea cum laude in physics from the University of Rome, "La Sapienza," in 1984 after receiving an Enrico Persico scholarship from the Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei. In 1989, he received his Ph.D from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, U.S.A. with a Sigma-Xi award-winning dissertation on globular star cluster formation and the application of supercomputers to the gravitational N-body problem. After an early academic career in the U.S., in 1996, Dr. Pinto joined the Navigation and Flight Mechanics section of NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory at Caltech in Pasadena, California. He carried out pre-launch research in support of the Stardust and Deep Space 1 missions, and he was the orbit determination specialist during the Galileo orbiter E19 Europa flyby in 1999. He was a member of the JPL Interstellar Program identifying the core technologies necessary for future travel to extrasolar planetary systems. In 1999, Dr. Pinto left JPL to pursue market disruptive applications enabled by the manipulation of Casimir forces. As a California physicist entrepreneur, he obtained ten US patents, some of which have also issued in the EU and Japan, in the subfield referred to as dispersion force- or quantum vacuum-engineering. Between 2013 and 2017, he pursued an intense experimental R&D effort in this rapidly expanding field at Jazan University in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Dr. Pinto is now focusing on advanced demonstrations of breakthrough dispersion force-enabled devices with applications in novel nanoparticle space propulsion, high density energy storage, nanorobots and nanooscillators, adaptive optics, and sensing involving membranes. His theoretical research also includes studies of the fundamental nature of the gravitational field. Dr. Pinto is a fixed wing private pilot with a multi-engine instrument rating.

Dr. Diaa Gadelmavla is a professor at the Izmir University of Economics(IUE). He received his Ph.D in astrophysics from the University of Heidelberg, Germany, in 2001. In his PhD research, he investigated theoretically the solar and stellar atmospheric heating by Magnetohydrodynamic waves. He spent 12 years at the University of Heidelberg and in industry (Arcor AG & DB-Telematic GMBH – Frankfurt, Germany) as a researcher and as a senior network engineer. He is the author of about 50 publications in international journals with more than 350 citations. His current research activities include solar, stellar heating and oscillations, antennas, RF energy harvesting and developing mm-waves based system components such as antennas, filters and amplifiers for 5G and 6G applications.

Dr. Gizem Ayna Duran graduated from Ege University, Faculty of Engineering, Department of Bioengineering between 2000-2004 as the fourth in the department. Then, she completed her master's degree at Dokuz Eylul University, Institute of Health Sciences, Department of Medical Biology and Genetics between 2004-2006. She completed her doctorate education and research studies in Debrecen University, Faculty of Medicine, Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, in Hungary, with the European Union Marie Curie Project, which is the 6th Framework Program, between 2007-2012. Dr. Gizem Ayna Duran's research subjects and specialties are cell death mechanisms, especially autophagy, cell death-based immune system responses in cancers, detection of differentiated gene intensity levels and survival analysis by using bioinformatics methods in diseases, especially cancers. Dr. Duran has academic publications in prestigious journals indexed in the Web of Science, research articles presented in national and international congresses, and national/international book chapters.

Osman have completed his PhD at Massey University, New Zealand on developing a novel generation of DNA probes using chemical modification. During this work he became experienced with non-canonical DNA structures, such as triple helical DNAs and G-quadruplex structures. After completion of his PhD he worked on developing miRNA detection kits. Currently He is working at Izmir University of Economics. His recent publication was focused on using bioinformatics tools to predict biologically relevant G-quadruplex structures from genomic data. He is currently working on developing novel bioinformatics tools for molecular biologists, and understanding the functions of non-canonical structures of DNA and RNA.

Yalçın KILIÇ has been taken his bachelor degree at Giresun University, Chemistry department in 2010. Between 2010 - 2013, he has taken master of science degree from Eskisehir Osmangazi University, Graduate School of Science, Chemistry department.At the same year, he started at Anadolu University. He is currently Ph.D. student.

She graduated from Ankara Cumhuriyet Anadolu Öğretmen High School in 2015. She received her undergraduate degree from Izmir Katip Çelebi University, Department of Biomedical Engineering in 2019. In September 2021, she started her PhD education in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Izmir University of Economics.

After completing my high school education in İzmir Atatürk High School in 2004, I completed my undergraduate education in the Civil Engineering Department of Celal Bayar University in 2010. Then, I started my postgraduate education in the Civil Engineering Department of Izmir Institute of Technology. After earning my MSc in 2013, I started my Ph.D. studies in the same department. During my graduate education, I worked as a research/teaching assistant at the Izmir Institute of Technology for nearly nine years. In addition, I took part as a trainer in various courses and workshops within the university and the Turkish Chamber of Civil Engineers on various structural analysis programs. In addition, I was a civil engineer member of the TEDAŞ admission committee for many solar power plants. After I completed my Ph.D. studies in earthquake engineering in 2020, I worked as a lecturer at various universities. Between 2021 and 2023, I worked as an instructor doctor at METU NCC. Areas of expertise: Earthquake engineering, seismic-resistant design of structures, seismic assessment of existing structures, reinforced concrete structures, numerical modeling of structures.

Dr. Onur Merter was born in 1983 in Izmir. In 2005, he graduated from Dokuz Eylul University, Faculty of Engineering, Department of Civil Engineering with honors. He became a research assistant at Dokuz Eylul University in 2006. In 2008, he was awarded a Master’s Degree in Structural/Civil Engineering from Dokuz Eylul University, The Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences. He successfully completed the Ph.D. program in 2014 and received a doctorate degree in Structural/Civil Engineering. He worked as a Dr. Research Assistant at Dokuz Eylul University, Faculty of Engineering, Department of Civil Engineering between 2014-2017. He worked as an Assistant Professor in Usak University, Faculty of Engineering, Department of Civil Engineering between 2017-2019. He is currently working as a full-time Associate Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Engineering at Izmir University of Economics. He has many national and international academic articles and symposium papers related to his research area. He has given many undergraduate and graduate courses in the field of Structural Engineering and he is still working as an associate editor of a scientific journal. His main areas of expertise are Reinforced Concrete Structures, Earthquake Engineering, and Energy-Based Structural Design. Dr. Onur MERTER received the title of Associate Professorship from ÜAK on the 15th of April, 2020. Assoc.Prof.Dr. Onur MERTER is the Editorial Board Member of “Frontiers in Built Environment” International Journal in the branch of “Earthquake Engineering”. As far as Gokhan Kilic's university education is concerned, he has acquired two undergraduate degrees from Yildiz Technical University in Istanbul, one in Civil Engineering and the other in Computer Education and Instructional Technologies. Both degrees took four years to complete. After his undergraduate studies, he went on to undertake an MSc in Geotechnology and worked as a Research Assistant at the Yildiz Technical University. Then, having granted European Union scholarship, he went to University of Portsmouth, UK, where he obtained his second MSc is in Structure and Mechanics. He also worked as a project engineer at Black and Veatch in London. After his master degrees he has completed his PhD degree in Civil Engineering, at University of Greenwich, UK, under a scholarship.

Aslı Bor TURKBEN received her B.Sc. degree in Civil Engineering in 2005 from Dokuz Eylül University, her M.Sc. degree in Civil Engineering in 2009 from İzmir Institute of Technology, and her Ph.D. in Hydraulic-Hydrology and Water Resources in 2015, from Dokuz Eylül University. She worked as a civil engineer in various companies between 2005-2009. She founded her own engineering company with two partners in 2009 and worked as a project coordinator and manager in many projects. She worked as a scholarship student in two TUBITAK projects between 2007 - 2009 and 2010 - 2013. She has been employed as a lecturer at IUE in 2015 and she worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Hydraulic Laboratory in Técnico Lisboa University in 2016. She has been appointed as an assistant professor at IUE in September 2017.

Dr. Pelin AKLIK got the civil engineer degree in 2000 from Dokuz Eylul University. She got her master degree in 2003 from Ege University, Civil Engineering Department, geotechnical engineering. She was invited from Universitat für Bodenkultur Wien, Austria and got her doctoral degree in 2012 with full scholarship from Austrian Government. She is working as Assistant Professor in Izmir University of Economics since she moved back to Turkey in September 2018.

Ruti POLİTİ received her B.Sc. degree in Environmental Engineering in 2010 and Civil Engineering in 2011 from Dokuz Eylül University, her M.Sc. degree in Environmental Engineering in 2014 from Dokuz Eylül University and Civil Engineering in 2018 from İzmir Institute of Technology, and her Ph.D. in Transportation Engineering is completed in Dokuz Eylül University.

Graduated from Yunus Emre Anadolu High School in 2014. Completed her major in Civil Engineering at IUE in 2019 with the first place. Graduated from IZTECH with M.Sc. degree in July, 2022. Currently pursuing a PhD degree of Civil Engineering Program at İzmir Institute of Technology Graduate School and working as a research assistant at İzmir University of Economics Faculty of Engineering Department of Civil Engineering.

Yusuf Murat Erten received his BS degree in Electronics Engineering from the University of Birmingham in England, and then completed his master's degree in Computer Science at Missouri University of Science and Technology in the USA and his doctorate in Computer Engineering at METU. He worked at companies such as Ortaş Telecommunications, Ericsson, Lucent Technologies, İnnova. He also worked METU Informatics Institute, Atılım University, TOBB ETU Computer Engineering, IYTE Computer Engineering and Bakırçay University Computer Engineering Departments as a faculty member. Murat Erten also served as the General Manager of Teknopark İzmir during the years he worked at IZTECH. He has been working as a faculty member at Izmir University of Economics Computer Engineering Department since 2021. He continues his research on computer networks, network security, sensor networks.

Büşra Temuçin received her B.Sc. degree in Mathematics in 2013 from Ege University, her M.Sc. degree in Information Technologies in 2020 from Ege University, International Computer Institute. In 2022, she began her Ph.D. education in Izmir University of Economics, Computer Engineering Dept. She has been working as a research assistant in the same department since May 2022. Her research interests covers cellular automata and procedural content generation in games.

Turhan Tunali earned a BSc degree in Electrical Engineering from Middle East Technical University and MSc Degree in Applied Statistics from Ege University, both in Turkey. He then earned a DSc Degree in Systems Science and Mathematics from Washington University in St.Louis, USA in 1985. After his doctorate study, he joined Computer Engineering Department of Ege University as an assistant professor where he became an associate professor in 1988. During the period of 1992–1994, he worked in Department of Computer Technology of Nanyang Technological University of Singapore as a Visiting Senior Fellow. He then joined International Computer Institute of Ege University as a Professor where he was the director from 2001 to 2009. In the period of 2000–2001 he worked in Department of Computer Science of Loyola University of Chicago as a Visiting Professor. He is currently working as a Professor at Department of Computer Engineering of Izmir University of Economics. His current research interests include adaptive video streaming and Internet performance measurements.

He received his BSc degree in Computer Engineering from İzmir Institute of Technology at 2012, his MSc degree in Game Technologies from Middle East Technical University at 2017, and his PhD degree in Computer Engineering from İzmir University of Economics at 2023. He worked as a software developer at METU Computer Center between 2013-2017, and as a research assistant at Computer Engineering department of our university between 2018-2024. He's been working as an Assistant Professor at the same department since November 2024. His research interests cover the topics such as player-computer interaction, artificial intelligence for games, psychology in game design, virtual/augmented/mixed reality technologies and graph generators for social networks.

Cem Evrendilek received his B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. degrees all in Computer Engineering from Middle East Technical University in 1988, 1992, and 1996 respectively. During his graduate study, he had the opportunity to conduct research on persistent programming languages, multidatabase query optimization, interoperability, and data clustering. He was a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Northwestern University during 1997. From 1991 to 2007, he has also worked for the industry and directed military and civilian projects involving the design and development C3I and ERP systems. He has also designed a very fast computer player for a Scrabble like word game that can make expert-caliber moves against thousands of human players simultaneously.

Cem Evrendilek has been a member of the Faculty of Engineering at İzmir University of Economics since 2007. He also taught undergraduate and graduate courses during the Spring semester of 2023-2024 in the Department of Computer Engineering at George Mason University. His current research focuses on design and analysis of computational aspects of various algorithms in diverse areas such as graph partitioning, polygonal covering, and localization.

Upon graduation from Bornova Anatolian High School in 2009, Çınar Gedizlioğlu studied computer science in Bilkent University in Ankara, where he received his B.Sc. degree in 2013. He then enrolled in the Music Technology graduate program in New York University, graduating in 2015 and receiving his M.M. degree. After working as an instructor at Izmir University of Economics for 2 years, teaching “Masterpieces in Music History”, he enrolled in the Ph.D. program for computer engineering in the same university, working on the field of music information retrieval (MIR). He's simultaneously working as a research assistant in the same department since 2020.

Alper Demir has received his B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the Department of Computer Engineering at Middle East Technical University, in 2014, 2016 and 2019, respectively. During his graduate years, he have worked as a Teaching Assistant in the same department and studied Reinforcement Learning, and Fully and Partially Observable Markov Decision Processes. Alper Demir, has been a member of the Department of Computer Engineering in Izmir University of Economy since 2020. His research interests include Artificial Intelligence, Reinforcement Learning and Data Analysis.

Ilker Korkmaz received the BSc. degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and MSc. degree in Computer Science from Ege University. He received the PhD degree in Information Technologies from International Computer Institute at Ege University, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Mehmet Emin Dalkilic. He is currently serving as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Computer Engineering at Izmir University of Economics. His research interests include computer networks and network security. His recent focus is on secure aggregation protocols in wireless sensor networks. In addition, he also conducts research in the field of machine learning.

Kaya Oğuz received his B.Sc. degree in Software Engineering in 2007 from Izmir University of Economics (IUE), his M.Sc. degree in Computer Games Technology in 2009 from University of Abertay Dundee with distinction, and his Ph.D. in Information Technologies in 2016, from Ege University, International Computer Institute (ICI). He has been employed as a teaching assistant between 2009-2011 at IUE, as a lecturer at ICI between 2011-2017. He has been appointed as assistant professor at IUE in February 2017. He is the head of department since 2019. His research interest covers game AI, machine learning, image processing, medical imaging and fMRI.

Türker İnce received the B.S. degree from the Bilkent University, Ankara, Turkey, in 1994, the M.S. degree from the Middle East Technical University, Ankara, Turkey, in 1996, and the Ph.D. degree from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst (UMass- Amherst), in 2001 all in electrical engineering. From 1996 to 2001, he was a Research Assistant at the Microwave Remote Sensing Laboratory, UMass-Amherst. He worked as a Design Engineer at Aware, Inc., Boston, from 2001 to 2004, and at Texas Instruments, Inc., Dallas, from 2004 to 2006. In 2006, he joined the faculty of Engineering at Izmir University of Economics, Turkey, where he is currently a Professor in Electrical & Electronics Engineering department. His research interests are in the areas of machine learning, pattern recognition, artificial neural networks, signal processing, optimization, biomedical engineering, and remote sensing.

Prof. Levent Eren completed his B.S., M.S., and PhD degrees in Electrical Engineering at University of Missouri-USA in 1995, 1998, and 2002 respectively. Upon graduation, he worked at University Missouri and Columbia College as a visiting professor. He took part in R&D efforts of SquareD PowerLogic group between 1998 and 2003. Before joinin Electrical and Electronics Department at Izmir Economics University, he worked as a faculty member of Engineering College at Bahcesehir University between 2003 and 2012. Dr. Erens research interests include motor current signature analysis, power quality, and digital signal processing techniques and he has many conference and journal papers, and patents in these areas.

Sertac Kilickaya received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Izmir University of Economics in 2018 and 2022, respectively, as the class valedictorian. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at the same university, where he has also been working as a research assistant since 2019. In 2024, he was a visiting researcher in the Signal Analysis and Machine Intelligence (SAMI) research group at Tampere University, under the supervision of Prof. Moncef Gabbouj. His research focuses on machine learning, mainly applied to condition monitoring and fault diagnosis in electrical machines, as well as other areas of signal processing.

Murat Askar was born in Ankara, Turkey, on 20 September 1952. He received the B.Sc and M.Sc. degrees from Department of Electrical Engineering at Middle East Technical University in 1974 and 1976 respectively, and the Ph. D. degree also in the same university in 1981. He become an assistant at 1974 in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering of Middle East Technical University. In the same department, he was promoted as instructor in 1978, assistant professor in 1981, and associate professor in 1984. He become Professor in 1991 in the same department. Since 2010, he is a Professor in İzmir University of Economics. Concurrent to his position in university, he worked as the Head of Electronics Division of Ankara Electronics Research and Development Institute, under Scientific and Technical Research Council of Turkey. In 1988, he become the Director of this Institute. In 1989-90, he was employed as the Head of Studios Department of Turkish Radio and Television. Besides his position in the university, between 1995-2002, he worked as the Director of Information Technologies and Electronics Research Institute. Between 2002-2003, he worked as the consultant to the President of Scientific and Technical Research Council of Turkey. He continued his academic research acticities on image prcessing in the Department of Radiological Sciences at University of California, Irvine between Sept 1987-Mar 1988. He worked as consultant at Polly Peck International, London between Jan 1990-July 1990. He initiated several projects in his professional life. He was a member of the team who prepared the feasibility report of HAVELSAN. With Prof. Dr. Abdullah Atalar, he formed the first VLSI Design Center in 1987 upon getting a grant from the Science for Stability Program of NATO. He played an active role for Information Technologies and Electronics Research Institute. getting ISO 9001 certificate when the was its Director. This was the first ISO 9001 certificate given to a government R&D Institute. He was the Project Director of the National Information Infrastructure Master Plan, which was the first plan in Turkey towards Information Society. In 2003, he started the first Low Orbit Earth Observation Satellite project in Turkey. Between 1996-2002, he was the representative of Turkey at the Information, Communication and Computer Policy (ICCP) Committee of OECD. Between 2000-2004, he was a member of the Executive Board of Turkish Radio and Television. He represented Turkish Radio and Television in Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU). Between 2006-2011, he was the Vice Chair of Turkish Informatics Society. In 1987, he received Science Incentive Award from Scientific and Technical Research Council of Turkey. In 1990, with three colleagues he has been given the 3rd Science Award of Turkish PTT. He is the coauthor of the Turkish books on Communication Systems and Communication Theory. He has several journal and conference papers on electronics, VLSI design, communications, electronic commerce and digital signature. He is married and has two children.

Bülent Bilir earned his B.S. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Boğaziçi University in 1987, M.S. in Control and Computer Engineering from İstanbul Technical University in 1990, and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Missouri-Columbia, MO, USA in 2000. Prior to joining the academia, from 2000 through 2004, he worked as a power systems expert at Siemens and CompuSharp in Silicon Valley, California and Electric Power Group in Southern California. He was with the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Bahçeşehir University from 2004 through 2009 and with the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Istanbul Arel University from 2009 through 2012 as a faculty member. He was a visiting professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Northeastern University, Boston, MA, USA from 2012 through 2014. Dr. Bilir is currently a faculty member in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at İzmir University of Economics. His research interests include computational methods for power systems, power-flow analysis, stability and control of power systems, and renewable energy. He is a member of the IEEE and its societies of Power Engineering and Control Systems.

Mehmet Türkan is currently a faculty member at the Faculty of Engineering of Izmir University of Economics, Izmir, Turkey. From Jan 2013 to Jul 2015, he was a full-time researcher at Technicolor Research & Innovation Center, Cesson-Sévigné, France, where he was a post-doctoral researcher between Nov 2011 and Dec 2012. He obtained his Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from INRIA -Bretagne Atlantique Research Center- and University of Rennes 1, Rennes, France, in 2011. He received his M.Sc. and B.Sc. (Hhons) degrees both in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Bilkent University, Ankara, and Eskisehir Osmangazi University, Eskisehir, Turkey, respectively. He was involved with the European Commission (EC) 6th Framework Program (FP6) Multimedia Understanding through Semantics, Computation and Learning Network of Excellence (MUSCLE-NoE), EC FP6 Integrated Three-Dimensional Television–Capture, Transmission, and Display Network of Excellence (3-DTV-NoE), and European UltraHD-4U research projects. Dr. Türkan was the recipient of the Best Student Paper Award in the 2010 IEEE International Conference on Image Processing (ICIP) and was a nominee for the Best Student Paper Award in the 2011 IEEE-ICIP. His general research interests are in the area of digital signal and image processing, computer vision, machine learning and artificial intelligence.

Graduate of METU Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department. She has MSc and PhD degrees on AI. She worked as a researcher at METU, Dokuz Eylul University, and Italy National Research Council. She worked in the R&D departments of various Turkish and international consumer electronics companies as a software engineer and manager. Most recently, she led the Software Innovation Division at SONY Spain and UK, and stepped into the consulting and training industry by setting up her own company to share her experience in the field of AI and R&D. She joined Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department of Izmir University of Economics in 2021. Her research interests are machine learning, deep learning, blockchain technologies, and mobile application development for the IoT.

Aydin Akan was born on January 1967, in Bursa, Turkey. He received the B.Sc. degree in Electronics Engineering from the University of Uludag, Bursa, in 1988, the M.Sc. degree in Electronics and Telecommunications Program from the Technical University of Istanbul, Turkey in 1991, and the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, PA, USA, in 1996. He has been with the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Istanbul University between 1996 and 2017, where he was granted Associate Professor position in 2001, and Professor position in 2006 . He was appointed as Professor and Chair of the Department of Biomedical Engineering between March 2017 and January 2020, where he served as the Dean of School of Engineering and Architecture, BAP Coordinator, Director of Biomedical Test and Calibration R&D Center at Izmir Katip Celebi University, Izmir, Turkey. Currently he holds a Professor position at the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Izmir University of Economics where he serves as the Department Chair. His current research interests include nonstationary signal processing, time-frequency signal analysis, and machine learning methods and their applications to wireless communications and biomedical engineering problems. He is a senior member of the IEEE Signal Processing (SP) and Engineering in Medicine and Biology (EMB) Societies, and member of European Signal Processing Association (EURASIP), Biomedical Image and Signal Analytics (BISA) Technical Area Committee. He serves as an Associate Editor of the Elsevier Digital Signal Processing Journal.

Burak Akbugday graduated from Zongulak Bulent Ecevit University, Department of Biomedical Engineering in 2017 as the valedictorian, as well as the salutatorian of the Faculty of Engineering. During his undergraduate studies, he received various grants from TUBITAK and other related institutions. Since 2021, he is studying in the Department of Electrical-Electronics Engineering in Izmir University of Economics towards his PhD degree as an integrated-PhD student. He also works at the same department as a research assistant and is currently receiving a scholarship from TUBITAK. His current research is focused on biomedical signal processing, machine learning and deep learning.

Dr. Faezeh Yeganli got B.S in control engineering from Khaje Nasireddin Toosi Technical University in Tehran, Iran in 2006. During her B.S studies in Iran she had an experience of working in research project in the process and Automation lab. Dr. Yeganli completed her M.Sc and Ph.D in Signal and Image Processing in Electrical and Electronic Engineering Department at Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU), Cyprus in 2009 and 2015. During studies in Cyprus, she was research and teaching assistant (Circuit II, DSP, Signal and Systems and Control Systems in laboratories) (2008-2015). At 2011, she spent two months in Kingston University, Canada for project management work-shop. After her graduation she joined to Electrical and Electronic Engineering Department at EMU as a part-time lecturer and she was teaching Circuit I and Introduction to C programming. Dr. Yeganli is currently lecturer at Computer Engineering Department in Izmir University of Economics from September 2016. She attended the Poznan University of Technology (Poznan, Poland) as a visiting researcher during summer 2018. Her research interests are signal and image processing, super-resolution , machine learning, deep-learning, neural network and computer vision.

Completed her bachelor degree in Ege University, Department of Bioengineering (2017). In the same year, she started MSc degree at Ege University Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences Department of Bioengineering and completed her thesis on the development of biopolymeric vaccine adjuvant. K.Nazan Turhan has been Professor of Food Engineering at Izmir University of Economics, Turkey since 2012. Her graduate, MSc and PhD degrees were awarded at Hacettepe University, Turkey. Prof. Turhan was involved in various projects between 2001-2003 as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Wisconsin, Food Sciences Department, USA. Her research interests focus mainly on edible food packaging materials, antimicrobial and biodegradable food packaging, food protection and preservation.

Dr. F. Pınar Gördesli Duatepe received her B.Sc. degree in Chemical Engineering at Hacettepe University. She started her academic career as a research assistant in the same department and completed her M.Sc. degree by participating in a research project supported by TUBITAK. She received her Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering and Bioengineering at Washington State University in USA. Her Ph.D. studies were supported by the National Science Foundation (NSF). Following her experience at a private company, she was appointed Assistant Professor at Izmir University of Economics, Faculty of Engineering. Her main research areas include biofilms, factors affecting the adhesion mechanisms of bacteria to surfaces at the nano-scale, reaction kinetics and bio-nanotechnology-based topics such as characterization of the elasticity of cells and nano-mechanical properties of molecules on the cell surface by atomic force microscopy.

Zeynep FIRTINA KARAGONLAR completed her bachelor degree in Biological Sciences and Bioengineering Department at Sabancı University. Then, she received her PhD in Molecular Biology and Genetics at University of Delaware in the USA. After completing her PhD studies, she worked as a postdoctoral researcher at University of Pennsylvania Medical School between 2010-2012 and at Dokuz Eylul Medical School between 2013-2015. Her research areas include tumor microenvironment and cancer stem cells on cancer promotion and drug resistance.

Lecturer Dr. Gülizar Çalışkan Bilgin received her B.Sc., M.Sc and Ph.D. degrees from the Department of Bioengineering, Ege University, Turkey in 2011, 2014 and 2020 respectively. During her Ph.D., she worked in the NanoBioprocess and Process Analytical Technology Laboratory at Ege University and took part in the TUBITAK 1001 Project on “Optimization of Synthesis of Biogenic Nanoparticles by Microalgae and Potential Use in Biotechnology”. She is a lecturer at Izmir University of Economics since 2016. Dr. Çalışkan Bilgin took part in various national and TÜBİTAK supported projects in the fields of biotechnology, bioprocess and bioengineering as a consultant and a scholar. She is currently the principle investigator in a scientific research project on the sustainable use of microalgae. Her areas of interest are bioprocesses, bioreactors, nanobiotechnology, bioproducts, their optimization and characterization.

Dr. Yağmur Kiraz was graduated from İstanbul University, Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics in 2013. She earned her MSc and PhD from İzmir Institute of Technology, Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics. During her PhD studies, she received a scholarship from TUBITAK-BIDEB-2214A International Fellowship Programme for PhD students and worked in Health Science Center, Stony Brook University, NY, USA between 2017 and 2019 to conduct her PhD project. Her PhD project focused on “Targeting Sphingolipids to Overcome Imatinib Resistance in Ph+ Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia”. Her research is placed around drug resistance mechanisms in different type of leukemia and the involvement of sphingolipids in chemotherapy resistance. During her graduate education, she received many prestigious awards from different institutions/conferences including “Health Security Partners Futures Fellowship”; “Qualified in a global competition among young scientists worldwide to participate in the 65th Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting”; “Youth Travel Fund” from 2019 FEBS Special Meeting; “Young Researcher Award” from Turkish Hematology Association. Dr. Kiraz has more than 30 abstracts presented in national and international conferences and over 15 articles published in international journals/books.

He was born in 1992 in Izmir. He graduated from Fatma Saygın Anatolian High School in 2010. He completed his undergraduate education in Manisa Celal Bayar University, Department of Bioengineering. During his undergraduate education, he worked on nano-sized drug delivery systems and their characterization against cancer cells. He completed his master's education at Izmir University of Economics and continues his doctoral education at Ege University, Department of Biotechnology. He is involved in researching alternative (noncanonical) DNA structures, the roles of G-quadruplex discovered in the bacterial genome, cancer immunology, virtual drug screening, development of novel gene therapies against viral and genetic diseases. Following his education at Izmir Private Çakabey Highschool, Dr. Yandım obtained his BSc. in Molecular Biology and Genetics from Bilkent University. He conducted research at Harvard University Medical School as well as University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, where he performed research on immunology and stem cell treatment. His emerging interest in gene control and epigenetics paved the way for him to do a PhD in this field at Imperial College London, where he was supported by a full scholarship from the Medical Research Council of United Kingdom. His findings on reversing gene dysregulation in an incurable form of ataxia led him to pursue an exploratory clinical trial. He published the results of this study in "The Lancet", which is one of the top-ranked scientific journals in the world. He continued his postdoctoral studies also in London at the Institute of Cancer Research, where he studied signal transduction in cancer. He is currently focused on revealing the interplay between repetitive DNA and cancer as well as aging. He also conducts studies on interdisciplinary biology and next-generation computational drug design. Dr. Yandım is an honorary associate at Izmir Biomedicine and Genome Center (iBG).

Dr. Mine Güngörmüşler received her B.Sc. degree from the Department of Biology, Hacettepe University, Turkey, in 2007, her M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from the Department of Bioengineering, Ege University, Turkey in 2010 and 2014, respectively. She completed the second half of her Ph.D. research at the University of Bologna, Italy, and the University of Manitoba, Canada between January 2012 to October 2013. Following her graduation, she worked for a multinational diagnostics company for 3 years. She is a faculty member at the Department of Genetics and Bioengineering at Izmir University of Economics (IEU) since September 2017. Dr. Giray Resat has got his PhD degree from Industrial Engineering Department of Koc University. He specialized in sustainable manufacturing and transportation solutions for industrial clusters. He received bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering from Bogazici University. He works on the development of systematic approaches to systems engineering problems. He addresses development of approaches to integrate data (both qualitative and quantitative) with physical models and development of mathematical programming algorithms to optimize system performance. Oktay Karabağ is currently working as an assistant professor at İzmir University of Economics (IEU). Between 2019 and 2021, he worked as an assistant professor in the School of Economics at Erasmus University Rotterdam. Selin (Bilgin) Özpeynirci received her B.S. degree in 2002, M.S. degree in 2004 and Ph.D. in 2007 in Industrial Engineering from Middle East Technical University. She worked as a research assistant at the Department of Industrial Engineering, Middle East Technical University between 2002 and 2007. She has been working in İzmir University of Economics, Faculty of Engineering, Department of Industrial Engineering since February 2008. Kamil Erkan Kabak received his B.S degree from the Department of Environmental Engineering, Middle East Technical University, Ankara, Turkey in 2000. Hakkı Eskicioğlu graduated from Mechanical Engineering Department of Middle East Technical University (METU) in 1973. He received M.Sc. degree from the same department in 1975 and Ph.D. from University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST), Machine Tools Division in 1981. He worked as an Assistant Professor between 1982 and 1984 and Associate Professor between 1984 and 1991 in METU. Between 1988 and 1989 he made a research on AI and Expert Systems in Hannover University, IFW as a visiting staff sponsored by Alexander Von Humboldt Foundation. He became Professor in 1991 and worked for METU until he retired. He joined İzmir University of Economics in May 2015. Lütfi Mutlu received his B.Sc. degree from the Mechanical Engineering Department of Ege University in 2009. Dr. Ebru Sayılgan graduated from Karadeniz Technical University, Department of Mechanical Engineering with BSc and MSc degrees, in 2013 and 2016, respectively. She got her PhD degree at the Department of Biomedical Technologies in Izmir Katip Celebi University, in 2020. During her master's thesis, she joined the "The Laboratory of Neuropsychophysiology at the University of Porto (2013-2014)" as a TUBITAK Scholar. The main scope was to receive training on "Cognitive, Affective, and Social Neuroscience with an emphasis on EEG/ERP methods and meta-analytic" topics, which is the main component of the Brain Computer Interface studies. Gazihan Alankuş received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Computer Engineering from Middle East Technical University in 2002 and 2005, and his Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from Washington University in St. Louis in 2011. As a part of his doctoral dissertation he developed motion-based computer games for people with stroke, and studied the usability and effectiveness of these games. Since June 2012, Gazihan Alankuş has been teaching classes about and and conducting research in Computer Games, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Graphics and Mechatronics in Izmir University of Economics.

Rahime Alsanğur received her bachelor's degree from Dokuz Eylül University Mechanical Engineering in 2018. She started her master's degree at Dokuz Eylül University, Department of Mechatronics Engineering, and completed it in 2022 with her thesis on "Design and implementation of a 3D Helmholtz coil system". She started her Ph.D. education in February 2022 at the same department. She has been working as a research assistant at Izmir University of Economics as of March 2023.

Seniz Ertugrul received her B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees from the Mechanical Engineering Department, Istanbul Technical University in 1988 and 1992, respectively. She gained her Ph.D. degree from the Wichita State University (WSU), Wichita, KS, USA, in 1996. She worked as graduate teaching assistant and then as lecturer at the WSU between 1993-1997. She was a visiting researcher at the University of Michigan in 2002. She served at the Mechanical Engineering Department of ITU between 1998-2018. She has been with the Mechatronics Engineering at the İzmir University of Economics since October 2018. Her research interests include system dynamics and control, system identification, mechatronics, and intelligent systems.

After graduating from Software Engineering as a high honor student in 2012, Serhat Uzunbayır started his master's education in the Intelligent Computing Systems (with thesis) program at Izmir University of Economics in the same year. After completing her master's degree in 2015, he started his education at Izmir University of Economics Computer Engineering Doctorate Program. Currently, he is continuing his doctorate education and working as a Research Assistant at Izmir University of Economics Software Engineering Department.

Senem Kumova Metin has taken her B.S degree from Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department, Ege University (2001), MS and PhD degrees from International Computer Institute, Ege University, İzmir (2005, 2011). She is mainly interested in Natural Language Processing/Computational Linguistic applications. She is currently working as an Associate Professor in Software Engineering Department, in İzmir University of Economics. Erdem Okur completed his undergraduate degree in the Izmir University of Economics, Department of Software Engineering in 2012. In the same year he started his master in Intelligent Engineering Systems at Izmir University of Economics and became a research assistant at Software Engineering Department. After he erned his MSc, he started to his Phd in 2015. He is currently studying Phd. in Computer Engineering at Izmir University of Economics and works as a research assistant at Software Engineering Department.

Kaan Kurtel has been a Professor at the Department of Software Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering of Izmir University of Economics since 2002. He obtained his MSc in Computer Engineering from Ege University, in 2005 and his Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from Trakya University, Turkey, in 2009. His Ph.D. thesis research involved a collaboration with Bimar professionals on software product measurement and maintenance. He has worked in various areas of the computer industry, among others, in software development, education, service, sales and marketing, and management. During his professional life, he worked for a year in England and learned English (1987-1988). His current research interests focus on software engineering, software quality, software measurement, software maintenance, logistics information systems, e-business, and health care systems.

Dr. Ibrahim Zincir is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Software Engineering at Izmir Economy University. Dr. Zincir received his PhD in Computer Engineering from University of Plymouth with a focus on data mining for secure mobile networks. His research interests include data mining, machine learning, network security and web centric business applications. He is a member of the IEEE.

Prof. Dr. Yasar Guneri Sahin received his PhD and MS degrees in 2005 and 1999 from Gazi University - Industrial technology and computer education respectively and BS degree from Middle East Technical University-Computer engineering in 1994. He has worked in industry for 10 years as senior and top manager, and managed many official and private software projects. His major fields are Software Engineering, Real-Time Systems and Educational Technologies. He has been working at Department of Software Engineering, Izmir University of Economics since 2007, and he has been serving as a dean at Faculty of Engineering, Izmir University of Economics since 2014. He served as a visiting professor at University of Missouri Columbia between 2018 and 2019.

He completed his undergraduate education in İzmir University of Economics, Department of Computer Engineering in 2019. In the same year, he started his master's program in Izmir University of Economics, Computer Engineering Department. After he earned his MSc, he started to his PhD in 2022. In addition to his ongoing PhD education, he is working as a research assistant at Izmir University of Economics, Software Engineering Department.
