UAV Seminar held at IUE

Students of Izmir University of Economics (IUE) Department of Aerospace Engineering and Aviation Club co-organized organized a seminar. UAV Systems Coordinator Samet Sayın delivered “Historical Development of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV), Their Application Areas, and Respective Legislation” themed seminar on campus on Friday, March 22. The seminar addressed topics such as the history of unmanned aerial vehicles, their application areas including agricultural protection to detection of forest fires, to carrying small cargo. In addition, the idea of using unmanned aerial vehicles as base stations, a topical issue these days, was discussed. The audience were informed about subjects such as the classification of UAV’s by size, recording electronically, pilot being a registered pilot, identifying flying zones and no-fly zones, and entering flight times. Finally, the importance of authorized institutions and universities in delivering UAV pilot training was mentioned at the seminar.
