Selfie Drone Project will be supported by TUBITAK!

Gizem Özger, Burak Öztürk, Kaya Kervan, Anıl Yüce and Burak Buran from the Faculty of Engineering of the Izmir University of Economics were eligible to receive project support within the scope of TÜBİTAK 2209-A University Students Research Project Support Program. The project which aims to keep the mobile phones in the air which is an indispensable part of our daily life and thus make the processes such as selfie or video recording much easier, is a multidisiplinary engineering study. Aeronautical and Space Engineering faculty members Assoc. Dr. Y. Volkan Pehlivanoğlu and Prof.Dr.Diaa Gadelmavla are thesis advisors in this project. In order to ensure that the mobile phone remains suspended in the project, the design of the electric motor, propeller assembly, power supply, composite container and electronic circuits has been completed in the project. The project, which is currently undergoing ground tests, is planned to produce prototypes in the coming days and to make trial shots suspended in the air.
