IUE will also undertake the consultancy role in developing the educational content in the project, establishing the measurement and evaluation system and contributing to the management activities. IUE will transfer all its technological infrastructure and educational power to the project, and will carry out all work in coordination with the General Directorate of Information Technologies of the Ministry of Treasury and Finance. Speaking at the ceremony, IUE Rector Prof. Dr. Murat Aşkar stated that they are happy to be a stakeholder in such an important project.
CONTRIBUTION TO YOUTH, EMPLOYMENT, AND LABOR
Stating that training people who are well-equipped in the field of informatics, who follow and analyze the latest technological developments is very important for the future of Turkey, Rector Aşkar said, “The transformation in technology, especially in the field of informatics, shapes our lives. Technology is now at the center of our lives. We see that the speed of digital transformation has increased with the pandemic period. As a university that produces science, creates value, and considers raising qualified young people that Turkey needs as its main mission, we have approached with a sense of duty to contribute to the 1 Million Employment Project. I believe that studies to be carried out meticulously by IUE Faculty of Engineering will further develop the 1 Million Employment Project, which will contribute greatly to the youth, employment and business world.”
THE PROJECT IS REACHING ITS TARGET
Dr. Cebrail Taşkın, General Manager of Information Technologies of the Ministry of Treasury and Finance, said that they aim for the project to reach 1 million people by the end of this year. Taşkın said, “We can also define this project as Turkey's only training and employment platform specific to the information technology sector. When we started the project in 2020, our main goal was to train 1 million people on information technologies and get them ready for employment. There is very little left to reach this goal. We want to reach over 1 million in a short time. Total number of applications in the project is 878 thousand, and the number of active people at the moment is 725 thousand. The trainings we provided exceeded 100 thousand minutes in total. We are constantly updating the educational content and basic information in the project. Universities, without a doubt, should be the biggest supporters in such a valuable project. The collaboration with Izmir University of Economics in this direction has been an exemplary and very useful step. I would like to thank everyone who supported this process.”
