Educational collaboration between Izmir University of Economics and the University of Missouri

Izmir University of Economics, which has educational collaborations with over 200 universities worldwide, also signed a collaboration with the University of Missouri (MU), USA to offer education opportunities abroad for its students. Based on the academic collaboration between IUE and University of Missouri, students of Computer, Software, and Electrical and Electronics Engineering will receive both undergraduate and graduate degrees in 5 years with the 3+2 system.
Izmir University of Economics has added another institution to its partner universities network. Following the negotiations by Prof. Yaşar Güneri Şahin, Dean of IUE Faculty of Engineering, who is a visiting academician at the University of Missouri, the two universities signed an educational collaboration, which allows students to study abroad.
Opportunity for Graduate Degree
Dean of IUE Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Yaşar Güneri Şahin said, “We signed a special agreement with the University of Missouri, one of the highly recognized educational institutions of USA where Nobel laureates are teaching. Based on this agreement, students of Computer, Software, and Electrical and Electronics Engineering will receive both undergraduate and graduate degrees in 5 years with the 3+2 system. Students, who complete their 3rd year at Izmir University of Economics, will be able to complete the 4th year at the University of Missouri. If they wish, students will be able to extend their studies for another year to receive their graduate degree.”
Employment opportunity
Prof. Şahin pointed that students would be able to lay a firm foundation of their career by receiving both an undergraduate degree from IUE and a graduate degree from MU.
“Thanks to this special agreement, our students will also be eligible to work in USA for one year after they receive their graduate degree. This will give them a chance to gain international professional experience along with the chance follow the latest developments and opportunities in their fields,” said Prof. Şahin.
